Finance Manager *

£38,000 - £40,000 + 25 days holiday + options to work 3 days from home
I’m delighted to be working with our client to help them appoint a Finance Manager to their Warwickshire based HQ.
A charitable organisation with a commercial interest, they’ve been serving the community for almost 17 years now. As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Finance Director in delivering all strategic objectives and key priorities of the finance function. Leading a small team of transactional finance assistants, you’ll assume accountability for the delivery of the management accounts.
Typically, your remit will include:-
- Prepare and discuss monthly management accounts with budget holders
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are complete
- Download information from the bank and distribute it to finance staff
- Prepare and post all necessary journals
- Ensure all components of the accounts have been posted
- Check all batches are cleared
- Ensure VAT records are correct
- Produce budget holder reports to the deadlines
- Produce variance and trend analysis
- Produce data/reports as required
- Regular liaison with budget holders on monthly reports
- Ensure financial maintenance of linked systems in liaison with the relevant department
- Motivate income/expenditure team to meet departmental targets
- Deliver monthly 1-2-1’s with the team
Skills required:
Ideally, you will be AAT qualified and/or working towards your ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) qualification, our client is happy to look at offering an ongoing support package to complete the studies too. Previous experience in the charitable sector would be highly advantageous. Due to the high levels of interaction with finance and non-finance colleagues, your confident communication skills will be put to great use here, as will your ability to manage and challenge the expectations of others at times. Training will be offered on their finance systems but a good understanding of Microsoft packages (specifically Excel) and a general aptitude for systems is a must.
What’s on offer:
Our client is offering a salary of £35,000 - 40,000 pa and has an office/home working policy where you can generally work from home for 60% of the week. Naturally, there will be times of the year when you’re required to attend the more frequently as the business needs require. They are also open to the idea of putting together a support package if you are continuing your professional development.
