Who said there’s no such thing as a free Lunch?..... That’s just one of the perks our client offers.

Yes, I know that is not a legitimate reason to want to join an organisation, but did I mention they have a great finance opportunity available too.
Launched 6 years ago, the business operates in a rapidly growing area of the educational sector. One that has recently received additional funding to help bring its offering to a much wider global market. The organisation has experienced outstanding growth to date and has plans to continue that rapid growth with the appointment of some additional financial assistance.
As a Finance Assistant, you will support the Finance Director in a broad range of tasks, including:
- Raising invoices for academic fees including ad-hoc invoicing throughout the term
- Accounts Receivable management, including review with the FD and fee payers
- Processing Purchase ledger and expense invoices, including payment runs
- Daily bank management and reconciliation
- Support the FD in the provision of various reporting
- Petty cash and credit card reconciliations
- Fixed asset management including depreciation
- Deposit and deferred income reconciliations
- Ad hoc journals
- Other ad-hoc support to the FD on Operational matters
So, what do they need from you?
The most important attribute will be your desire to progress, your hunger to want to widen your finance experience and develop your professional accountancy career. The Finance Director is keen to stress that in time, he believes the successor will be taking further responsibilities away from himself and taking a full and active involvement in the full monthly management accounting process.
Previous experience with Sage would be helpful, as would any experience in the educational sector system iSAMS/iFinance. In addition, a good grasp of MS packages including Excel (VLOOKUP’s, SUMIF) will be key. Just as important to your success, will be the ability to communicate (verbally and written) with a broad range of stakeholders such as educational professionals, Fee payers, Parents and students. Your ability to work in a structured environment that commands the need for great attention to detail will be key. You’ll also need to be able to work with the greatest of discretion as much of the information you will access is confidential.
Why Apply?
As you’re probably picking up, this isn’t a big finance team (yet!). This role is going to suit if you’re an ambitious professional, who is working towards or qualified AAT with ambitions to expand your depth of responsibilities in your next challenge. Somewhere you can learn from a highly-experienced Finance Director with a very “mentoring” style of leadership. Opportunities for taking on more responsibility and to play a pivotal part in delivering the future success of the company are on offer.
……Did I mention a free lunch too?
