Credit Controller - North Gloucestershire
£23,000 - £25,000 pa + Healthcare + Pension
We are currently working with a client based in a rural area of northern Gloucestershire, accessible from locations such as Stratford upon Avon, Warwick, Tewkesbury, Worcester and most parts of the Cotswolds by car. Forming part of a small but growing finance team, you will support the Credit Senior in a range of debt management activities including:
- Proactive management of all debts via telephone and email
- Posting cash and allocating payments to the ledger to ensure all debts are maintained within 30 days or less
- Uploading weekly invoices to various in-house portals
- Build and maintain effective relationships with the client through regular and positive communication
- Resolution of any queries promptly, escalating any concerning issues where appropriate
- Support the wider finance function from time to time with other tasks
The traits they are looking for in a Credit Controller include:
You will have some previous experience of working in a Credit Control environment, ideally 1- 2 years. The environment is very fast-paced and would you if you are not afraid to get on the phone with internal and external stakeholders to have the right sort of conversations to minimise bad debts. Internally, some of the conversations you will need to hold with operational teams will require a certain level of assertiveness.
Typically other desirable experience includes –
- Able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and initiative to apply logic
- Ability to deal with overdue accounts and customers professionally and effectively
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders verbally as well as in writing
- Intermediate Excel skills (Vlookups and Pivot tables)
