Let’s start with the stuff you want to hear. Our client’s a small established technology/Manufacturing business with over 20 years of successful growth. Forming part of a larger European group the local UK HQ has all the feel of a small family business but with the support framework of its larger parent. On offer is the opportunity to become an integral part of the Finance/Office support function.

So, what can you expect to be involved in:
- AP and AR accounting process management and reconciliation, which may include:

- Raise sales invoices to distribute to clients via the central email account, ensuring the correct information is inputted into the Accounting system
- Producing aged debtor reports for the Directors
- Update the cashbook including reconciling against the bank statements
- Code and input Purchase invoices
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Support the payroll process, processing employee expenses, absence monitoring, and other HR administrative matters
- Credit card reconciliations, Petty cash reconciliations
- Process various journals, accruals and prepayments
- Process Bank reconciliation
- Support for Fixed Asset administration
- Assist in the preparation of VAT and other tax compliance matters
- General support to the Finance Manager with month-end duties and General Ledger activities
- Support the Office/HR Manager with general administrative tasks
Things they would like you to bring to the role:
You will have a good educational background (GCSE and/or A-Level) with strong Mathematical and English skills. You may even have started working towards your professional accountancy qualification such as AAT. Some demonstrable experience of working in a Finance and Administration team is essential as is your grasp of the basic Microsoft packages such as Word, Outlook and Excel. Previous experience with SAP would be highly advantageous too.
Your ability to communicate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders including group colleagues will be put to a good test. As will your drive to work towards deadlines and priorities that could change at times. A willingness to “get involved” and support the various finance and administration managers will see you gain the greatest amount of enjoyment the role has to offer.
